Who am I?
Daniela Wellisz is making her mark on the fiber community with her work in planned pooling.
She began crocheting in middle school, then went on to study math and software engineering. When she discovered planned pooling she realized it was a great way to combine her love of algorithms and of fiber arts. Since this revelation she has created several patterns, video tutorials, taught a class, worked with yarn dyers and even designed an app; all focused on the technique of planned pooling. She loves making unique planned pooling pieces with indie dyed yarns, and continues to discover new techniques.
What is Planned Pooling?
Planned Pooling is a crochet and knitting technique where you choose a specific width for your project in order to make variegated yarns turn into beautiful plaid and striped patters.
